Here’s how to unlock the hidden Easter eggs in Android Messages

Some of the hidden kaomoji in action.

Earlier this month Google launched desktop browser support for Android Messages, letting you text friends from your PC (if you’ve got an Android device to set things up). Well, it wouldn’t be a proper Google app without a few hidden Easter eggs, and users have been busy digging up words and phrases that act as shortcuts to kaomoji — those Japanese emoticons that look a little like this: ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶.

Most of these seem to have been carried over from Hangouts, as spotted by this post on Reddit. We’ve assembled a partial list of the ones we’ve tested below, but it seems the more elaborate tricks from Hangouts don’t work. These include things like /ponystream (which produced a herd of galloping My Little Ponies) and /shydino (which sent a tiny dinosaur running to find cover).

To execute these commands on Android Messages, just type a forward slash and then the word you want. They only work at the beginning of messages though.

  • /tableback — ┬─┬ ノ( ゜-゜ノ
  • /that — (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
  • /this — ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
  • /wizard — (∩ ` -´)⊃━━☆゚.*・。゚
  • /yuno — ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
  • /success — (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
  • /happy — ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
  • /facepalm— (-‸ლ)
  • /disapprove — ಠ_ಠ

Firefox is testing features that let you customize colors and view two tabs in one

Mozilla Firefox is testing out two new experimental extensions that let users further customize their browser and view tabs together more easily. The first one is called Firefox Color and it lets you change the colors of the background, text, icons, and the toolbar. Whatever you change can be saved and you can also choose to share your color schemes with others. Firefox also has a selection of pre-made color themes that you can choose from if you don’t want to customize every single color yourself. The second feature that Firefox is testing is called Side View and it does basically what it sounds like: you can view two browser tabs at once in the same tab and window. Without the feature, you can already line up two windows side by... Continue reading… from The Verge - All Posts https://ift.tt/2LZWa7h
